Outlawz Color Challenge

Okay, I know, I am pressing my luck doing two postings in the same day when my blog has not worked for months. Let's seize the moment and take advantage.

I was lucky enough to get to chose the color challenge for this week, so I went with something that reminded me of spring.

First, let's talk about our sponsor. Sheepski Designs.  I absolutely love their designs!!!!  Our winner will get 3 digis of their choice from the store!

We are using this wonderful spring picture as our inspiration this week.  I  chose a pale blue color and added a twist. The designer chooses 2 other colors from the picture and tells us what your twist is.

Here is what I did for this weeks challenge. An exploding popup card.

The front of the card is a blue with white scripting.  This is one of my favorite papers.  I don't know what I will do when I run out of it.  The card is held closed with a belly band, which should have been enough, right? But no, I was not satisfied, so I had to add flowers.  While you cannot tell, my belly band sentiment is done with a pink and gold foil.  I just was unable to get that sparkle when I took my photo.  the flowers pull from the colors of the flowers on the picture.

I then tried to pull colors from the flowers in the graphic to add to the inside of my card as well.

Sleepy Love Bug

When I first saw this image, all I could think of was "Snug as a bug" but didn't really like how that sounded for a card, so I went with something a little fun.   I turned to my Silhouette to find a fun design to use, and found "Cute as a Bug". I hope you like it, as it was fun to create.

With all of the fun stuff out of the way, let's get to my own card for this celebration.  I have these great looking old-fashioned candy kabobs.  Who doesn't remember the fabulous old-fashioned candy as a kid? Even today we can still get that replicated candy.  Just working on this fun digi made my mouth water.

I had so many ideas when I first started working with these candy kabobs. However, some were greater than my talent.  So, I thought, old-fashioned candy, how about an old-fashioned window display?

I used colored pencils to color my candy.  Plans were to use liquid glass to make the candy glossy and add some glitter for sugar. That is until I realized, my liquid glass was no longer liquid. I had not used it for a while, and when I did, I found it dried up. Bummer!!!

I used Recollections paper for this card. The Sugar Plum stack was the perfect choice. A nice Damask with some added candy print helps to accent my candy kabobs.  I needed a little bit of sparkle, so it looked like lights shining down on it, so I added random sparkles.   What store front is complete without a facing? So, I trimmed down a sheet of paper, using just the candy covered cupcakes and added that to look like a shelf facing.  I finished the set off by adding the sentiment, "You are so Sweet" to attract window shoppers.

I hope you enjoyed my card and the rest of the blog hop..  Below is the list of other designers. Please make sure you visit each blog to earn your opportunity to win one of our fabulous prizes.

Outlawz Tic Tac Toe Challenge

The October sponsor is Fabrika Fantasy.

Our challenge winner will get 3 digis from the store!

Don't forget our other Fabulous Sponsors for October (check out the Outlawz sidebar)

This week I have a Tic Tac Toe for you with some delicious colours and fun twists! Don't forget to tell us which row you used when you post your challenge - have fun!

Oh what a fun Tic Tac Toe board we had to use this week.  The combinations and the ideas flowed like crazy.  I do not really do spooky, but thought, I could do a cute spooky. So using the far left-hand column, I created a fun print and cut card.   The cat looks a little scared, and who wouldn't' with a spider crawling on his head.

Through The Craft Room Door ~ Wiz Doodles Halloween

Hi Everyone and welcome to the new "Anything Goes" challenge here at Through the Craft Room Door.  This week we are sponsored by Dr. Digi's House of Stamps.

Welcome to the brilliantly bizarre brain of Dr. Digi's House of Stamps. Here you will find monsters, aliens, odd balls and Dundertons as well as many many more wonderful digital stamps with a sense of humour. You could be the lucky winner of  2 digital images from the store.

I made this fun Halloween Card using the Wiz Doodles. Of course, I love most anything from Dr. Digi's House of Stamps.  They are all fun and make great cards.

I made my paper using my Cameo Silhouette using their custom patterns.  Sure makes it easy to cutomize your coloring and your paper.   Every wizard needs a black raven, so I added a couple of black ravens to help with his spells.

I hope you like it and please make sure you join us in our anything goes challenge.

Createful Heart Digis ~ Victoria

Happy Monday Morning!!!   It is a beautiful fall day in the valley, with Halloween quickly approaching.   Today, I want you to see a beautiful vintage card I  create for Victoria from Createful Heart Digis.   I love making twisted easel cards, and Victoria seemed to fit the need for a nice vintage card.  You will often see, I do not put sentiments on my cards, al.owing a customer to choose the sentiment he or she would like.  This would be a great birthday card or a nice anniversary card.

Just Keep Swimming

For the  month of October, our sponsor is
Our winner will get 3 digis from the store!
This week's challenge was chosen by Cara (that's me!) and I have an Inspiration photo for you to play with this week!
What a fun inspiration picture Cara has for us this week  I love the sparkle, but it reminded me of bubbles in a fish tank.  So I used the fun Beta fish pre-colored and created a card to cheer someone up.  I made the "Just Keep Swimming" sentiment a little large, but it still works.

My inspiration for this card came from the sparkle baubles in Cara's photograph.  I keep thinking rows and rows of baubles draping down, or tons of bubbles in a fish tank.  Obviously, I went with the latter.   I used an embossing folder, to create my background.  However, I did not want just a plain background, so I I used the lightest of blue ink I had.  Using a brayer, I carefully, with a light hand rolled the brayer over my ink pad, then over my embossing folder.  Pretty fast and easy.

Enjoy!

Shy Rose from Faery Ink

Here we are, it's Wednesday again, and that means another crafty challenge with the Crafty Belle's and the Crafty Gals Corner Challenge Blog.

This week the challenge is Punches and/or Dies

Our sponsor(s) this week are:

Farey Ink Image
Faery Ink

This weeks challenge was to use punches and/or dies.  I have a Cameo, so I have few punches and dies, but I found a couple that worked perfectly for the challenge.  However, I do not know the name of either one, as I do not store my dies in the original packages.  I keep them on a magnetic sheet in a small square plastic box.

I used the image Shy Rose from Faery Ink and colored her with my Prisma Colored Pencils.  I wanted a soft feel because of the shy nature of the design.   Using a light opaque sheet of paper from my stash, I layered my image over a light pink card stock.  Both pieces were cut from a die.

Roses were a must for this shy little faery ink image. So, I added them in the bottom.  Tucking a few pearls in along the way.  I finished off the card by cutting a Birthday Wishes sentiment from another die and topping it with roses.

Thanks for looking!

Tuesday Color Challenge with the Outlawz

This month our sponsor is

Our winner will get the 3 digis that our team have to play with.

Don't forget our other Fabulous Sponsors for August

This week's challenge was chosen by Jeanie. Jeanie would like you to make a project using the chosen colour plus two more colours from the picture and add lace!

Again this week, we have a wonderful inspiration photo.  There are so many colors to chose from here.   I used the cute little scarecrow from Sheep Ski Designs.  I know, I have used it before, but he is so adorable, how could I not use him again.  This time, I colored him up in red, and matched him with fall papers.  I finished off the card with a leaf flourish and three paper roses.

Through The Craft Room Door and Decosses Dynamite Doodles

You could be the lucky winner of the following:
Simply Beauty papers

For my project this week, I made this beautiful card.  I used The Beauty of Butterflies in ivory, and the Simply Beauty Patterned and textured papers in the pinkish/purple. (third one from the left).  While it is not quite a damask, it is close enough for me.

I cut a card blank using my cameo. However, before it did the cut, I added the You are Unique sentiment and printed it on the card.  I then used the same pattern to cut the two different papers and the ivory butterfly.  I did make the butterfly considerably smaller again, using my cameo. I inked the edges of all of my papers, including the butterfly.  I added a ribbon and some beautiful paper flowers. After the flowers were added, I put the ivory butterfly on a piece of floral wire and inserted it into the flowers so it was hovering. I completed the card by adding another sentiment on the front of the card.

Big Eyed Bestie Sailor Boy

Just look at this adorable little sailor!  Isn't he just the cutest thing for a fun birthday card. This fun digi comes from Sherri Baldy.  This stamp is the big eyed, big head bestie sailor boy.  He can be found in the shop here

I colored this cute little guy with my Prisma Colored Pencils.

I  created the sentiment using my Cameouing two different files that I merged together than did a print and cut. I also used foam pop dots to pop the sentiment up off the card.
