Pinque Peacock ~ Hello Kitty

Hello to our the wonderful Peacock friends and family.  I hope you are all enjoying your day.  I hope the summer weather is not to unbearable where ever you might live. Today is my day to share my fun project with you, and I hope I do not disappoint.  It is a fast and easy project, but I am focusing on a main idea here.

Before I share my project with you, I want to give a huge shout out to my Peacock sister Rhonda.  She saved my behind when I forgot I had a posting due.  She and I traded days.  So to you Rhonda, I say a huge Peacock THANK YOU!!!!

Now, on to my project:

Green Art.  Or the thought of reusing objects rather than tossing them in trash.  I got the idea while doing volunteer work the first of the month.  At one point, I was helping to set up the tables in the “Green Zone”.  That got me thinking, maybe I should be creating some “green” products for my booth and try to sell them.  This is my starting point I still have to incorporate more ideas into the mix.

I started by using a cereal box, some Glue and Seal, and a paintbrush.  I first cut the cereal box to fit within the area of my Big shot which is about 6” or so (I never measure, I just estimate it).  I follow that up with a thin coating of the Glue N’ Seal.  Thou, I learned not to thin, or your paper will eventually come up.  Once the glue dried very good, I  used my Sizzix die and cut out the gift card holder.

This project is so easy simply because the die also includes all of the necessary score lines, so all I needed to do at this point was fold it on the score lines, add a couple of pieces of Red Line Tape to the edges and tape it together.  I like to use the thicker red tap to ensure the two folds do not come apart.

To complete the look, I added the perfect “Hello Kitty” button on top of my bow and a tiny Velcro dot on the inside to hold the flap closed. Finally, with the help of our wonderful Peacock Queen, I added the sentiment of "Kitty Kash" to the front of it. I also added a little handle to make it look like a purse.  A great idea shared with me by my Peacock sister Rhonda.  Thanks ladies for the Fab ideas.

Like I said super easy and fast.   I hope you enjoyed it.
