I Love Sketches by Tsunami Rose ~ May 4
Today is day four for the month of May.
The sketch I used today was sketch number 18.
This is what I did with the sketch.
I just love this paper pack, it is Rosewood Pattern Pack from ColorBok. I am limited in my paper selection choices because of where I live and every now and again I get really lucky and find a great paper pack at Wal-Mart.
This is a 6 x 6 card, so I simply trimmed a 6 x 6 square out of the bottom corner of the paper. This sheet just happened to work perfectly for this card. I think added three small squares that I inked in white, embellished the squares with white and pink pearls that I had in my stash. I completed the look with a banner embellishment and a small string of pearls.
Please make sure you check out my DT sisters cards as well. I know you won't be disappointed.
I encourage you all to visit and check out her sketches by joining her Facebook group!

I Love Sketches by Tsunami Rose ~ May 3
Today is day three for the month of May.
The sketch I used today was sketch number 12.
This is what I did with the sketch.
The paper for this card is from the Recollections Love Letters paper stack. I took two sheets of paper and carefully trimmed it the sizes I needed. Then I covered the lines with ribbon. My favorite part of the whole card is the added sentiment, and how perfectly it fits within the space. It looks like it was there already and not stamped in by me. I did add some tiny cream pearls in the scrolls, and then a couple in the top corner and one larger one in the crossing of the ribbon.
Please make sure you check out my DT sisters cards as well. I know you won't be disappointed.
I encourage you all to visit and check out her sketches by joining her Facebook group!

My project today is a ...
This is one of my favorite movies. I just love the inquisitive mind and the go-getter attitude of Nemo. I created Nemo from the Cricut Cartridge, "The Best of Pixar" borrowed from a friend. (Thank you so much)
When i first started, it was going to be a missing your card, however, when I got the card completed, I did not have a stamp that said anything about missing you. So, in a way, I thought that Nemo was chasing his dreams, to see what else was out there in the world, so I used that stamp instead.
I think this card turned out really good (you don't hear me say that often) and I do like it. I hope you do too!!!
There is a great line-up today for the hop and I wouldn't want you to miss a single spot:

You are probably wondering if there is going to be a prize for this hop. There is. It will be a Disney animated movie but I will reveal as to which movie it is going to be at a later time. To be eligible for this prize, you have to follow my blog and everyone else's blog that is in this hop. You also must leave me and the other wonderful ladies a comment in order to qualify for the prize. The grand prize will be awarded at the end of this month. You get one entry for each of the 4 blog hops during the series of Walt Disney Animated Movies Blog Hops during each of the Friday's in the month of May. So if you just choose one of the Fridays to attend, you would only get one entry but if you choose to attend all four hops during the month of May, you get a bonus entry since you came to all four hops, then you will receive 4 + 1 entries, which makes your chance of winning the movie go up with each entry.
Thanks for stopping by today and visiting and checking out my project, I now must send you on your way but watch out for the evil characters that stand in the way of happiness for our heros as I send you on to ...(please put the next link here). Please stop back again real soon for another great project.

I Love Sketches by Tsunami Rose ~ May 2
Today is day two for the month of May.
The sketch I used today was sketch number 22.
This is what I did with the sketch.
I love this paper pack, and I love that I can carefully trim the pages and have at least four cards from one sheet of paper. Remember that paper I used yesterday? This paper is part of that same sheet of paper. I love to dig through my papers and find papers that will work for multiple cards.
The image is a free download from the web. However, the stamps I used are from the sponsorship bag sent by Daisy. The gears were stamps in the package, (insert information here) I added them all to one of my clear blocks by using double sided sticky tape and used my sepia tone ink and just stamped all over the sheet of paper. I thought it turned out fairly well.
Please make sure you check out my DT sisters cards as well. I know you won't be disappointed.

Scrapping with Scrappy Design Team Color Challenge
Scrapping with Scrappy Design Team Color Challenge
Today is my posting for the Scrapping with Scrappy Design Team. Our challenge this week was to do a color challenge, using bright colors. I think this card meets that challenge, don't you?
I sure don't know what I was thinking when I started making this card. The idea was really good in my head, but when I started working on it, I sure gave myself a headache.
I started with a 6 * 6 card base, then for the diamond pieces added I created a 4", 3", 2" and 1" inch squares and cut them in half. I had hoped when I cut them, they would match up a little better than they did. Oh well, I am still pleased with the outcome. I do believe this is a happy card, so I gave it a simple "Happy Hello" sentiment for the center diamond.
The one problem I did have with this card was I needed to start with the 3" squares because the 4" ones over lapped. Thou you don't know it unless you look super close.
I hope you like the card, it was fun to make!

I Love Sketches by Tsunami Rose - May 1
Today is my first posting for the Month of May.
The sketch I used today was sketch number 8.
This is what I did with the sketch.
I love this paper pack, and I love that I can carefully trim the pages and have at least four cards from one sheet of paper. Those roses are so vibrant and pretty and I wanted to accent the roses with some pretty ribbon. I found three transparent ribbons to add, however, I was disappointed that the first color was not dark enough to really show on the card in the picture.
Please make sure you check out my DT sisters cards as well. I know you won't be disappointed.

Her Craft-Kre8tions Design Team ~ Thinking Outisde the Yoke
Welcome to Her Craft Kre8tions first ever Blog Hop which we are calling Thinking Outisde the Yoke. Each Design Team Member was given a paper mache egg and were to transform this into something other than what was given to them originally. Our Design Team is to think outside of the "card" and do something other than cards and layouts. What a challenge .... could you meet this challenge?
Check out our incredible creative Design Team . . . .
WOW - this was quite a project for me to accomplish. I had so many thoughts that went through my head but then would axe the idea because I did not like it. Even as I completed the final design, I was making changes left and right to what I was doing.
I started this project thinking I would just create a Faberge Egg, and bling it out. Then as I thought about it, I decided I wanted to turn my tiny egg into a flower vase. So, with a little bit of acrylic paint, I have taken a paper mache egg, used my hubby's dremel tool to trim off the top of it, and created myself an eggcellent flower vase.
Here is what I started with:
Here is the egg vase
Here are the results of my egg project
I am still trying to decide if I want to bling out the egg with pearls and diamonds. Parts of me say yes, you should do it, while another part says no, it is hidden by the vines. So, for now, it is a vibrant pearlized purple with no bling.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today, please be sure to visit my DT sisters and see their eggcellent projects.

Mix and Match Blog Hop
Welcome to the "Mix and Match Blog Hop" brought to you by the Paper Piecings By Nikki Design Team. This month we wanted to show you how easy it is to mix and match Nikki's amazing piecings and to inspire you to try your hand at it too. Nikki has a lot of new designs for you to try out and perhaps mix with sets you already have.
If you have arrived from Mindy then you are in the right place. If not, you may want to start at the beginning with Mandy: http://lovestoscrap11.blogspot.com/.
For my project I used two different patters from Paper Piecings by Nikki. I used the "A Mothers Love" and the pattern "I love Hoo you Are" set.
You will also notice that I do not add titles to my layouts. I do this because when I create them I have a picture in mind, but because most of my layouts go to my grand daughter, her mom and dad might have other thoughts. Therefore, once the decide what pic(s) they will add, I will a title for them.
I did come up with several titles for this one, but none that were really appropriate for a young lady.
I just love the look on the monkey's faces. I did not do that intentionally, it just kind of happened. Whenever I go to the zoo, one of my favorite displays are the monkey's. I can sit and watch them play for a very long time. The two gorilla's remind of how I always feel when I watch them at the zoo. "Why oh why are you staring at me"?
I hope this inspires you to create your own mix and match project. Next stop is Kimi/Pamela . We hope you will come back on the 15th when the rest of our team shows you their mix and match projects. Until then - Happy Scrapping and Piecing fun!!!
BLOG CANDY - Nikki is giving a $10 gift certificate to one follower who will be chosen at random and announced May 15th at the next hop. All you have to do to be eligible is:
- Hop along and become a follower of each blog along the way
- Leave a comment at each blog
- Follow Paper Piecings By Nikki on facebook
- Follow Paper Piecings By Nikki's blog - paperpiecingsbynikki.blogspot.com

There may be additional goodies along the way, sooo, don't forget to stop at each blog and leave comments as you never know what goodies there were left behind by the stork!
Congratulations to Shawnee and her family on the birth of their newest daughter. To celebrate this special day, I made a double page layout titled, "My {Birth}day. Page one has a frame especially for the first picture of the baby on her birth day, and a small oval to add her name, birth weight, and length. The page is complemented with pink letters, pink roses and two teddy bears. The teddy bears are from Paper Piecings by Nikki from the beary-beary fun set.
On the second page of my layout, I have added three additional frames for pictures, that are accented with cream colored roses and pink roses. Again, I added two bears and some pink roses.
Now, that you have seen my fabulous lay-out --- it's time to send you on your merry way to the next stop along the way Colleen!!!! Again, we wish to congratulate Shawnee and welcome the new precious baby girl, Felicity.

My rendition:
Again for this day, I made two cards. I made two card because I did not like how the first one turned out. While I love the design, I did not feel like implemented the idea very well. The yellow behind the colored pieces was off for me, i felt it was to big. The middle bar I liked, because I really like this paper and love highlighting the rose.
My second take on the card I feel is a lot better than the first. There is a lot of pink on this card, it is very colorful.
Sometimes when I create, I have to really step back and rein myself in for a moment. I get all of these ideas jumbled up in my mind, then I have a problem implementing them. I believe this is what happened with me on both cards for this blog hop. I got these great ideas at first, then, I went to far to the left to make it happen.
This however is what I really like about using Daisy Collins aka Tsunami Rose sketches. The freedom to do what you want to do and how you want to do it.
I do encourage you all to come over for a visit and check out her sketches by joining our Facebook group!

Scrapping with Lisa's Designs ~ Flowers
Welcome to Scrapping with Lisa's Designs Design Team displaying Lisa's file Flower Garden, http://www.scrappingwithlisadesigns.com/item_33/Flower-Garden.htm, which is available in her store. There are 5 great flowers which the Design Team will showcase in various ways to show the versatility of this file.
I had a lot of fun with this file - I have made flowers of all sizes. I just think this flower garden is so fun and there are so many wonderful things you can do with the flowers. I have made flowers from paper, and inked them, left them plain, I even used my cuddle bug to add some embossing. However, for this project, I wanted soft looking flowers so i got out my water color pencils. With my pencils, I colored each petal and the leaves then used my Fantastix blending pen to blend the colors.
I am in the process of using the flower garden file to make an exploding box. At this point, i know what I want on the inside of the box, I just have to get the stamps to do so. As such, the pics you see below are just three sides on the outside of the box.
I think of these three flowers, the pink 6 petal flower is my favorite. Which one do you like better.
Thank you for stopping by my blog today, now, I do not want you to miss any of the great files, so please visit my Design Team sister blogs. You wouldn't want you to get lost along with way of the garden path.

Today's daily sketch challenge is # 18
My rendition:
It is always hard for me to list what papers I used on a project I am working on because my sister in law has sent me a great deal of paper and I never know for sure which stack the paper comes from. I start mixing and matching until I get the look i want.
I love this sketch, it is very versatile, as you can see with the two different cards I have made today. They are the same sketch, but very different. The first one is more elegant with the vintage look paper and the pearls. The second, a fun and festive card with the bright orange paper and the orange beads.
The biggest issues I had when working with this sketch was getting the elements right. The top one has a bit to much empty space off to the left while the bottom one may not have enough. I think it really is what the user wants when they create, and I have learned that we are our own worst critics.
I do encourage you all to come over for a visit and check out her sketches by joining our Facebook group!
