I Love Sketches by Tsunami Rose ~ June 2

Here is the second sketch for June

The sketch I used today was sketch number 12.

This is what I did with the sketch.

This card was made from one of Daisy's vintage printables that she is selling in her shop. You will need to watch her Zibbet shop to get your own copy of her print files, this also includes the sketches that we use each day as part of her Design Team.  I know you will love them as much as I do.

This is one of my favorite papers from Daisy's shop - as you can see, I have used it not only as my background paper but also as the focus of the four small squares.  I simply framed the beautiful paper on brown paper then added a small banner with the words "with all my heart".

Please make sure you check out my DT sisters cards as well.  I know you won't be disappointed.

I encourage you all to visit and check out her sketches by joining her Facebook group!

I Love Sketches by Tsunami Rose ~ June 1

WOW, it is already June, where have the year gone?

The sketch I used today was sketch number 10.

This is what I did with the sketch.

This card was made from one of Daisy's vintage printables that she will be selling in her shop. You will need to watch her Zibbet shop to get your own copy of her print files.  I know you will love them as much as I do.

The rest of the card is made from my scrap stash. The beautiful lace tirm that you see if from my aunts stash.  I went to her house a few weeks ago and raided her sewing room.  I wanted a few pieces of her lace and trims and I came home with nearly all of her trim and then she shocked me by giving me some trims and tattings that were my grandmothers and great grandmothers.  I've yet to use the later because I just sit and hold it in my hands and wonder how I got so lucky.

Please make sure you check out my DT sisters cards as well.  I know you won't be disappointed.

I encourage you all to visit and check out her sketches by joining her Facebook group!

We're Off To See the Wizard Blog Hop

Photobucket

We're Off to See the Wizard the wonderful Wizard of Oz to hopefully get the Tin Man a heart, the Lion courage, and the Scarecrow a brain! But there's the poppy fields to beware of as you could get very sleepy! The Wicked Witch but we know she's afraid of water. The flying monkeys . . . just totally freaky looking!!!! You're probably still dizzy from the spinning whirling twirling house and watching all those things passing by like a nightmare expecially that Miss Gulch on her bicycle! Poor Toto hiding in the basket, but can you blame him? Don't pay any attention to the man behind the curtain as he knows not what he speaks! And then there are the delightful munchkins that sing 3 octives highly than humanly possible. I almost forgot the good witch Glinda - how could I forget her --- she was just too sugary sweet to my standards but as a Good Witch goes, she was the best, but why didn't she just tell Dorothy she had the power to return all along and wait until the end - geesh! And then only bad witches are ugly --- come on now! Its the Merry Old Land of Oz! I have a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore Toto. . . .

We're paying homage to the Wizard of Oz today with our blog hop! So, grab your beverage of choice and those ruby red slippers of yours, click them twice and repeat after me - "there's no place like home, there's no place like home"!

There is no place like home - I would agree with that!!! I remember the end of the movie when Dorothy hitches a ride home in a hot air balloon. When I was a little girl, I always wanted to climb in that balloon and fly off with them. I have always had a fascination with hot air balloons. So when I found this great hot air balloon pattern on this site, (http://www.birdscards.com/) I knew I wanted to make it. So, when I was trying to think of what I was wanted to make for this project, I keep thinking about the flying monkies, the lion, the tin man, and the scarecrow. Of course, you know there is always Dorothy, but I wanted something different, so, I went back to my hot air balloon. I know it is nothing fancy, but I think it fits in with the story well. There is no place like home and as Dorothy found out, that is where they Heart is.

For Blog Candy we have a 7 - piece paper assortment of 12 x 12 pieces of paper by Paper House Productions

We have a great line-up for you today and you should have arrived from . If not, or you just dropped in to visit today, we don't want you to miss a single story of the travels of our "characters" from start to finish and would love for you to begin at the beginning of our hop -

As every good story, it has a beginning and a happily ever after - Dorothy went home and all was well with the world and Dorothy told Auntie Em - there's no place like home!!!!!! AWWWW how sweet! Hope you enjoyed my project and I must send you along your way to and a place beyond the rainbow -

Here is my card for today!

I have always loved working with Daisy's sketches because they are so versatile. This sketch drew me in for the double ribbon option.  I had originally thought of using two colors of ribbon, but I could not correctly match the green and I did not think it would look right with the ribbon I had.

The paper used for this card is Stampin' Up paper, the ribbon is from Michael's, and the flowers and wedding petals that I picked up on sale at Walmart.

I love how this card turned out, thou there are a few things I think I might change if I remade it.  The card stock and the green papers are both Stampin' Up papers, The beautiful flowers are one of Daisy's printables that you can get from her shop. As is this fabulous green lace.  The flowers are from my stash, they are a silky type flower and this is one of the things I would change about this card.  I would have rather had a pink shade of flower for the bottom layer, it would have better matched with the beautiful print Daisy made.  I would have also inked the edges of the sentiment in the bottom corner. this would have helped with the sharp edges that are there.

My rendition:

Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too Blog Hop

Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too

Welcome to Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too Blog Hop and Pooh's happy little corner at the 100 Acre Woods. Who doesn't love the cuddly loveable bear that gets stuck in a honey jar???

How do you spell "Tigger" T-I-double"guh"-errrrr, that spells Tigger! that's how!!!! "The wonderful thing about tiggers. Is tiggers are wonderful things.Their tops are made out of rubber. heir bottoms are made out of springs. They're bouncy, trouncy, flouncy, pouncy fun, fun, fun, fun, fun But the most wonderful thing about tiggers is I'm the only one. III'm the only one!"

Now, put these two buddies together and what adventures we shall have as will be demonstrated along the way in our hop today!!!

We have a fabulous list of friends today with their wonderful tumbly grumbles in the tummy line up for you today beginning with Lynne at http://slasewcraftiness.blogspot.com/. If you have arrived from Miriam then you haven't fallen out of the forest!!!

Here is what I have for you today, two layouts and a picture frame.

This first page is dedicated to Tigger.  My son loves Tigger so I thought it was a good idea to make a page for him.  He can add his own baby picture or he can add one of his daughter.  I used the Pooh and Friends Cart to complete all the cuts on this page.  The top frame is just tacked down, so my son and his wife can pick a picture then we can glue it down proper.

Well you can't have a Tigger page if you don't have a Pooh, can you?  I didn't think so either!   Again, all cuts are off of the Pooh and Friends cart and the wooden picture frame is just tacked down for picture selection.

I had a few extra cuts so I turned a cheap picture frame in to a Pooh/Tigger frame.  I have the cutest picture of my grand daughter I am going to print and insert.

You can either follow the empty honey jars along the path or you can follow our incredible line-up:

Your next stop along the 100 Acre Woods whether traveling by balloon or bouncing is Linda.

I not only want to thank you for stopping today to visit but in the admirable words of our hero, Winnie the Pooh, "A day without a friend is like a pot without a single drop of honey left inside." and I know "We will be friends until forever, just you wait and see."

Thank you,
Kimberly

A Weather Bear Reunion

Welcome to Scrapping with Lisa's Designs Design Team displaying Lisa's Weather Bear files, http://www.scrappingwithlisadesigns.com/category_13/Weather-Bear.htm, which is available in her store. Today, the complete Design Team will showcase both Rain Gear bear and Winter Clothes Bear in various ways to show the versatility of this file.

Good day to you all.  Today I take you to the Swiss Alps for a cold visit to meet your Winter Weather Bear.  Bobby (as I so call him) is an award winning bear.  He is the master of the ski slopes and helping other ski bears stay out of trouble.  He has worked hard to buff up and look cool so no one messes around on the ski slopes.  Bobby is a fun for all bear.

In one of the busiest season in decades, Bobby has been quite busy doing his thing, and it finally paid off, this month, he won the "Employee of the Month" award.  You will see him pictured below.

To complete his picture frame, I used the weather bear for Winter and just omitted a few of the pieces.  After all, a big muscle guy like Bobby doesn't need that huge heavy parka to hold him back.  He has his scarf and knit hat to keep him warm.

The background came from a sheet of paper a friend sent me.  I scanned the paper then  opened it up in Photoshop to add the words for the employee of the month.  I completed the design by adding some dimensional stickers.

Wouldn't want you to get lost along with way with the seasons so, here is the complete line-up with both teams combined.
