Today I have a cute two page layout I made using the ABC file at Paper Piecings by Nikki. Just click the links to be taken to her page or the direct file.
I do more cards than I do Layouts, but this file was to cute not to try and do a layout of some sort. I tell you this because I think the layout still needs some work and something added to it to help make it pop. However, everything I tried to add to it made it seem cluttered and distracting from the cute bears.
I tried something different with the edges of my photo mats and the borders of the layouts. Rather than just a straight cut or a scalloped cut, I decided I wanted to do an angle cut. While i like the look, it did take me some time to get the two pieces cut just right so they lined up the way I wanted them too.
The back ground paper I used is from Stampin' UP, thou I have had it for a while and could not tell you the name or the stack it came from. (sorry).
Here are a few pictures of the layouts.
I did add bows to the photo mats and some bling on the bears. I am setting this layout aside and will keep looking at it to try to fill the gaps. Thou, I wonder, am I trying to add to much to a layout? Does every little space really need to be covered?
I think you did a great job Kimberly! Sometimes it's hard to know if you have a page finished until you actually put your pics on it! Once you add your pics you might not want anything else on this page, or maybe you will just want a simple title. I think the bling and the ribbon added a nice touch!
ReplyDeleteI love your two page layout, I think white space is fine, down the road you may want to have space to journal.
ReplyDeleteCute layout.
