Oh the fun we can have when we celebrate the fun unique holidays of Papercrafts Presents 365 Cards magazine. This month, my choice of unique was Mustache March.

For those who know me, you know I love hockey, and it is getting to be that time of year. The playoffs are just around the corner and this means, players will be starting their playoff beards. If you are a hockey buff, you will be familiar with the man in the picture below. Lanny McDonald, known for his red bushy mustache. :-) As such, I saw this to be a great way to celebrate Mustache March. All of the paper I used for this card came from the DCWV The Man Stack.

I have been waiting for a long time and just the right card to use this fun paper, and here is it..

The line-up for March includes:

Buttons and Bows

Photobucket

Welcome to our blog hop today!!! Its Lynne's granddaughter , Lily's, first birthday and what better way to celebrate is with a little help from my friends and having a party! A beautiful baby girl with all pink buttons and bows thus we will be celebrating first birthdays using the color theme pink with a dash of buttons and bows not to mention a splash of blinng.

Sit back, grap a cupcake and punch and enjoy Lily's first birthday. If you just happened upon my blog by mistake, I want you to get your big girl shoes and panties on and start at the beginning which is Lynne at http://slasewcraftiness.blogspot.com/. SEW, if you came from Shelly then you are in the right place.

For our blog candy, it is going to be a pink package with buttons and bows of course with a bit of splash of bling and Stickles by becoming eligible with just leaving a comment on each baby step along the way and becoming a new follower if you sew desire!! How easy is that!!!!

Every little girl deserves a lot pink bling on her fist birthday, and since I could not be there in person to celebrate I made a present card and tag for Lily for her birthday.

To create the card, I first took a white sheet of card stock and heat embossed it with a soft pink embossing powder. I then wrapped my embossed paper up like a present with a criss-crossed pink ribbon bow. I added a white rose in the middle of the bow and tiny pearls in each corner to finish off the card. I wanted something soft and simple for the tiny hands of Little Lily.

Since I create a card that resembles a present, I decided I wanted to create a tag to go along with the card. I created the tag in the same way I did the card, by embossing the white tag with soft pink embossing powder. I than added two heart shaped buttons in the bottom corner and two Pink roses and a ribbon at the top.

I was not satisfied with how the tag was looking so I turned to my SIL and asked her for some assistance. She helped me realize that tags need to be bottom heavy, instead of top heavy like mine was. After our conversation, I then added the Pink flower at the bottom of the tag and two ribbon roses with a pearl centers. I topped it off by adding the string pearls behind each ribbon rose.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy First Birthday Lily! Your next stop along the way Lucy
