I Love Sketches by Tsunami Rose ~ April 8

Welcome to Day 8 of I Love Sketches by Tsunami Rose.

Happy Easter!  Today is day eight of 30 for I Love Sketches by Tsunami Rose.   Make sure you visit her blog here, and check out her awesome sketches.

Today's sketch is number 12.  First, take a look at the sketch . . .

I was excited just looking at this sketch, because I knew I had just the right piece that I wanted to use for this specific card.  Here is my take on the sketch.

The paper used for this paper is a sheet that is from a retired set from Stampin' Up.  It actually belongs in a Scrapbook set, but I wanted to use it for something else.  I was glad that I had enough of a scrap to complete this card.  The purple flowers on the left hand side are half of a sprig I bought at Michael's to use on a box I made.  They didn't work on the box, so I have been holding them for just the right project, and here i finally found it.

The flowers on the sprig are plastic, so I used my hot glue gun to glue them down.  I will have to wrap this up good when I mail it to keep from breaking the flowers.

I did struggle with the bow, ribbon, and pearls.  I always try to over embellish my projects and I kept trying to add more.  In this case, more would have been to much!!!

This card is going to a very special friend.

I Love Sketches by Tsunami Rose ~ April 6

I am not sure which paper stack this paper came from, as I dug it out of my scrap files. I do like the looks of the lighter colors against the darker striped brown.  I was not sure I would.

Today Sketch is number 2.  Here is the sketch:

And here is my take on the sketch.

I had a lot of fun making this card, thou, I did struggle with it a little bit.  The beautiful cream colored lace with the pink trim came from a very good friend of my who was once a professional seamstress. I am very grateful that she shared her lace with me.  As far as the papers, for this card, they were all from my scrap collection.

Please make sure you visit my Design Team Sisters blog and see their take on the sketch.

I Love Sketches by Tsunami Rose ~ April 4

Today is day three of my 30 days with I Love Sketches by Tsunami Rose.   Make sure you visit her blog here, and check out her awesome sketches.

today's sketch is number 21.  First, take a look at the sketch . . .

Here is what I did with her sketch.

For this sketch, I used one sheet of paper from the Recollections Love Letters Stack.  A little creative cutting and I had that foil bird just where I needed him.  I finished it off with a quick sentiment on a die cut using my Spellbinders die and some little tiny cream colored roses.

I hope you like it, I know this is one of my favorites so far.

Please make sure you visit my Design Team Sisters blog and see their take on the sketch.

Scrappy EMT Easter Project

Today I would like to share with you the  card I made for my parents for Easter.  A fast and easy file with a cut from My Scrap Chick.  This cross card was super fast and easy to cut out and put together.  I was worried about the delicate cut around the fancy part of the cross, but it all worked  out just fine.  I completed the cross by draping a dark purple ribbon around the whole cut piece, securing it with glue dots to keep it in place.

I am sorry that my picture is not better.  I loved this card so much that I wanted to get it in the mail right away to mom and dad. As such, I forgot to take a better shot of the card.   I think they will really like this one.

Thanks for stopping by today!

I Love Sketches by Tsunami Rose ~ April 3

Good Morning,

Today is day three of my 30 days with I Love Sketches by Tsunami Rose.   Make sure you visit her blog here, and check out her awesome sketches.

Today is sketch number 9.   This one really looks like a lot of fun to make.

Here is my take on sketch number 9.

Most of the paper i am using came from my sister in law. I have not idea which paper pack it came from, as she has shared from so many of her own stacks.  As such, I call it "Simply Lisa".  When possible, I try to find out the names of the paper, she has told me that this paper comes from the DCWV Chateau Lavender.

The cut is a file I found on www.SVGcut.com and I altered it to work for me.  The sentiment is also a free cut file from www.SVGcuts.com

I Love Sketches by Tsunami Rose ~ April 2

Good Day all,

Today is day two of my 30 days with I Love Sketches by Tsunami Rose.   Make sure you visit her blog here, and check out her awesome sketches.

Todays sketch is sketch number 22.  First, a look at the sketch...

Here is my take on the sketch...

The paper I used for this card came from the K & C,  the Que Sera Sera stack.  The embellishments are Wilton white cake doilies.  For the one at the top, I used double because they are so thin, I did not want the colors of the paper to show through.  I completed the look by adding two small orange roses at the top.

On the strip down the side, I complemented it by inking the edges in an orange. I think it made it pop off the page a little bit better.

I look forward to your comments, they help me improve my work.

Please make sure you visit my Design Team Sisters and see their creation from the sketch.

I Love Sketches by Tsunami Rose ~ April 1

    Hello Everyone

April 1, 2012 ~ Today's posting begins the first of 30 days of sketches by Tsunami Rose.  You can find her wonderful sketches on her blog here. She does "one original sketch, for one original card everyday".

First, here is a copy of her sketch . . .

Here is my take on the sketch.

The paper used is from the Paper Studio De'ja' Blue paper pack.  The three white roses are also from the Paper Studio.  The ribbon and pearl embellishment are from my personal stash.

I hope you enjoyed my card and will come back again tomorrow to see sketch number two.  I encourage you to try a sketch today.

    Thanks,
    Kimberly
