i love sketches by tsunamirose
My rendition:

It is hard for me to say why I like one sketch more than I do another, however, this one has stuck out for me since day one.  I love the opportunity to use flourishes in my cards. The diamonds and pearls always add such a wonderful elegant design to cards.  I also like the addition of floral to the design.  More importantly, I like the freedom to explore my own design skills with Daisy's sketches.

The materials used for this card are mostly out of my scrap pile with the exception of the pink floral top paper.  The pink floral paper came from a good friend so I have no idea what paper pack it is.  The pearl/diamond flourish was purchased at Michael's and the silk roses were purchased at JoAnn's.

Please leave a comment for the rest of the I LOVE SKETCHES BY TSUNAMI ROSE DESIGN TEAM and enter to win a chance to win a fabulous package!

Walt Disney's Animated Movies Blog Hop!!! ~ Sleeping Beauty and Lady and the Tramp

 Welcome to Walt Disney's Animated Movies Blog Hop!!! What makes this hop phenomenal as in no other hop is that every Friday, we will be paying tribute to different movies SOOOO, you will need to mark you calendars for every Friday for these special blog hops:

April 20: Sleeping Beauty
April 27: Tinker Bell

Today, we are celebrating all those cute characters that come alive on the screen.  If you just happened to visit me today, I wouldn't want you to miss one chime of the clock and would want you to start with Lisa at http://handmadewithlove-lisa.blogspot.com/.  You are at the right spot!!!!

My projects today are stamped and colored cards.

Please be gentle as I am still learning the ins and outs of coloring and blending with my Prisma Watercolor Pencils. Also my picture taking abilities appear to be lacking but I was having some issues with the camera so I took them with my cell phone.

I love the heart shaped white doily my friend Lynne sent me.  I got them this week and was so excited to use them for the first time in this project.   I thought it went well with the sentiment.

The stamped image is also a gift from my friend Lynne.  It is a Disney Princess Stamp Set that I really love.  It arrived just in time for me to use it for this posting.

This is my card for the Lady and the Tramp.  This is a downloaded digi that again I used my Prisma Watercolor Pencils and blending sticks to complete.  The sentiment is perfect for these two cuties, don't ya think?

There is a great line-up today for the hop and I wouldn't want you to miss a single spot:

You are probably wondering if there is going to be a prize for this hop.  There is.  It will be a Disney animated movie but I will reveal as to which movie it is going to be at a later time.  To be eligible for this prize, you have to follow my blog and everyone else's blog that is in this hop.  You also must leave me and the other wonderful ladies a comment in order to qualify for the prize.  The grand prize will be awarded at the end of this month.  You get one entry for each of the 4 blog hops during the series of Walt Disney Animated Movies Blog Hops during each of the Friday's in the month of April.  So if you just choose one of the Fridays to attend, you would only get one entry but if you choose to attend all four hops during the month of April, you get a bonus entry since you came to all four hops, then you will receive 4 + 1 entries, which makes your chance of winning the movie go up with each entry.

Thanks for stopping by today and visiting and checking out my project, I now must send you on your way but watch out for the evil characters that stand in the way of happiness for our heros as I send you on to ...(please put the next link here).  Please stop back again real soon for another great project.

Who Says an Insect Can't Be Cute ~ Day Two

I know as a woman --- the thought of "bugs" really isn't appealing but when you add a cute little face or a smile ... this insect is actually not as "YUCK" but becomes "CUTE". There are adorable, what did I say that a bug could be cute and adorable!!!! Well, that's what's this hop is dedicated to our imagination and making these cute little critters look cute!!!!

Sit back, and try not to itch and check out our bugs. If you happened to stop and visit me today, I'm honored, but please do not squish that bug as it is my project for today!!! I would love for you to start at the beginning so that you don't miss a single bug which would be Lisa at http://handmadewithlove-lisa.blogspot.com/. If you arrived from <  http://scrappyemt.blogspot.com > then you are at the right ant hill!!!!

Ha!!!  Who said bugs can't be cute never paper pieced the "Cute as a Bug" patterns from Scrapping With Lisa Designs.

You will not find the ant in the store yet, as he was an award from her fan page, however, I am sure he will be there soon.  However, unitl he is, you can paper piece these other cute bugs by picking up "Cute as a Bug" file using this link.  http://www.scrappingwithlisadesigns.com/item_18/Cute-As-A-Bug.htm

Welcome back for day two.  Today, I want to show you what I did with the wonderfully cute insects I made yesterday.  When I first tried to decide what to do I had visions of a layout, however, I could never come up with a good layout design.  So, I did what I always do and I asked my sister in law for inspiration.  This is what we came up with.

Ant walking along plant potted with a green plant.

Dragon Plant stake

Firefly Plant stake
To make the plant stakes, I simply took some floral wire and double it, twisted it as tight as I could, then used hot glue to hold the wire to the back of the insect.  The firefly I have wrapped around a water globe that we use to keep the water levels up in our plants.

I did the ant a little bit different.  I took three paper clips and glued them to the back of the sections of the ant.  This allows me to put the ant on many different size pots with ease.

Aren't these just the cutest bugs?  I know I like them.  Now, make sure you come back tomorrow to see what I am going to do with this collection of cute little bugs.

Your next stop along the spider web is <  http://slasewcraftiness.blogspot.com/ >. Thanks for stopping and no more squishing or stepping on these little cute insects! If you get lost along the way, we have included the entire hop lineup:

I Love Sketches by Tsunami Rose ~ April 18

Welcome to Day 18 of I Love Sketches by Tsunami Rose.

Today is day Eighteen of 30 for I Love Sketches by Tsunami Rose.   Make sure you visit her blog here, and check out her awesome sketches.

Today's sketch is number 26.  First, take a look at the sketch . . .

And here is what I did with the sketch.

I am really enjoying the card sketches that I am using.   Tsunami Rose creates some awesome sketches and makes it so easy to turn the sketches into beautiful cards. I would like to invite each of you to  join our challenge and join the group here http://www.facebook.com/groups/106370486155916/.

The papers used for this card all came from my scrap bin, although, I do believe the flower paper is Stampin' Up paper. I cut the shape for my sentiment using my Lacy Labels Cartridge, and the stamp is a Stampin' Up stamp called "So Happy For You". The three purple flowers were purchased at Michael's.

Please make sure you visit my Design Team Sisters blog and see their take on the sketch.

Arbor Day Blog Hop

I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.
A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the earth's sweet flowing breast;
A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;
A tree that may in Summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;
Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.
Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.
...Alfred Joyce Kilmar

In the News: Arbor Day celebrated in Clarksville, 'Tree City USA' as quoted in their local paper "I have a saying that trees are one of our utilities, and the reason I say that is because they help clean the air, they help control rainwater runoff, they convert carbon dioxide into oxygen," he said. "What we really have when we have a line of trees around the city is a utility that provides good things for the population without having any cost associated with it."

Today, we are celebrating the wonderment of trees and we welcome you in our celebration. If you are just visiting me, I would love for you to have a good "roots" with our hop and start at the beginning of our seedling which is  at. If you have arrived from  Lynne ~ http://slasewcraftiness.blogspot.com/  then don't "bark" up the wrong tree as you are standing in our midst!

I am a simple person, and this blog hop is no different.  I took a simple approach with what I wanted to do with this hop.  I wanted to highlight the importance of Arbor Day.  As such, I went to this web site to pulled up the mission of the organization.  I then went and pulled up the fact sheet about Arbor Day.  This is what I used on my layout.

The cut I used for this layout was cut at 9" from the Lacy Labels cut.  I then printed the facts on a 12 x 12 sheet of white card stock, and then carefully put this through my cricut to cut the white out at 8 1/2".  Once I added this to my layout, I grabbed my Pooh cartridge and cut out four trees, two at 4" and two at 3".   I then use pop-dots to pop the trees up off the design a little bit.  I completed the layout by adding three maple leaves to the top.

I cannot tell you what any of the paper is that I used for this layout.  If it did not come out of my scrap pile, it came from my sister in law.

Thank you for visiting us today as we celebrate the lovlieness of our trees. Your next stop along our trail is  Lisa ~ http://handmadewithlove-lisa.blogspot.com/. Thank you for counting our rings and not stumping along the way!

Scrapping With Lisa Designs Girl 1 aka The Pink Lady

Welcome to my Scrapping With Lisa Designs Bi-Weekly posting.  This week we are using the girl one pattern from the Strawberry Shortcake and Friends pattern.  You will find this pattern in the store if you click on this link. (http://www.scrappingwithlisadesigns.com/item_14/Strawberry-Shortcake.htm)

Lisa has created some wonderful patterns that are so versatile.  You will see this versatility as you peruse through my design team sisters blogs.

I was actually working on a scrapbook page when I was inspired to use this file for something different.  From the get go, I have termed this file as the "Pink Lady" only because when Lisa Designed her, she was dressed all in Pink.  She is really girl 1 of the Strawberry Shortcake and Friends file.

Breast Cancer Awareness if very near and dear to my heart.  I am a strong advocate to "find a cure".  So today, I took my "pink lady" and put her on a card, added some pink shiny ribbon, and a Find A Cure sentiment.   To create the sentiment, I used my Cricut Pens, I then switched back to my blade and cut out the frame for the words.  I topped it off with a couple of pink gems to add some pop.

I am working on another pattern from this same file... She is really big....  With this file, I am making a bulletin board for some young girl to display her memories of growing up.   Here is a sneak peak at Strawberry Shortcake.  She stands just shy of 9" tall.  You will have to stay tuned to see other aspects of this design.  I will give you sneak peaks as I work to completion.

I encourage you to stop by the Facebook fan page and see the work of our wonderful fans as well.  You will find that page by clicking on this link. (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Scrapping-With-Lisa-Designs/130882060268842) I know you won’t be disappointed.

Please make sure you stop in and visit my design team sister’s blogs as well.  Here are the links.
