Two complete . . just not good enough . . .

Today I made another attempt at the scallop hearts for my Valentine’s Day cards.  I was more successful today than I was the other day, however, it is clear that I still need more work in the process.  I think I like the size of my heart, but need to use smaller circles for my scallops.  I’m posting a picture of the two that I made this morning, and welcome any suggestions you might have for improvements.

I am enjoying the process of learning how to use the cartridges that I have and today I finally was able to get some of the correct colors so I can at least start working on the cuts for my granddaughters scrapbook.

Craft Forward

We all have a different muse. Because I do not live in an area where there are a lot of scrap bookers or paper crafters, I find looking at magazines and blog sites help me with my ideas.  Today I bought a new Better Homes and Garden Special Interest Publications magazine called Scrapbooks etc. (February 2011). I’m on the hunt for things to create for Valentine’s Day.  However, I quickly got sidetracked on the following website http://www.craftforward.com.   A monthly challenge to make and donate cards for children in a homeless shelter.  I encourage everyone to take a look at this site and do what you can to help with this challenge.  I have seen some incredible cards on blogs and I am confident that we can all make a difference by Crafting Forward.

Absent but not gone totally!

I’ve been absent from my blog for the past few days, however, that does not mean I have not been working on my designs.  I have started working on my Vacation scrapbook, (we took a holiday cruise) and I plan to do several pages for each stop along the way, as well as pages for other fun things we did as well.  However, I quickly realized, I need to stock up my craft supplies as well as my cricut cartridges.  I have been making a list, and found a great website called cricut machine where I can get a much better price for my cartridges.  They also have some great prices on other items I need as well.
I have spent the last few days planning but also grading papers.  Work must come first before play.  I hope to have something fun to share with you soon. Something other than just experiments.
My sister in law told me there are no mistakes, just surprises.  I like her motto and use it often when I am planning my designs.
