For my project for Ms. Lynne’s birthday, I chose to do a March Hare.

I am a day late for the big birthday hop… Yesterday was her special day, and I am joining the hop on day two. So, according to the March Hare, I’m Late… for a Very important date.

The March Hare was a lot of fun to create with a Free SVG file from SVG Cuts. I tried something new with this little fella that I have not done before. I chalked the edges of my pieces in order to provide some dimension. For the most part I am pleased with the outcome, but think the tiny pieces could have been better. The saying “I’m Late… For a Very Important Date” came from the March Hare, so it was important that it be on this card for Lynne. I downloaded a free font, “Alice In Wonderland” and used that free font to create the back ground paper for the front of my card. I simply printed it out on my printer, then cut it to size.

The March Hare must have been heading to a party to be that frazzled because he was late. A tea party perhaps?

On the inside (left) of my card, I added a lace tablecloth (made from a paper lace doily) and two tea cups, perfect for a party for two. I welded the two tea cups together to make them look like they were toasting to Lynne’s special day. My hubby said they look like sunglasses laying on the table. So, to try to change that perspective, I added two stacked pop-dots to the bottom of the cups, and added just a single pop-dot to the top of the cup.

On the inside (right) I Printed a poem out on plain white card stock, rounded the edges before I glued it to the card. I accented the poem with a piping cup of hot tea and a tea bag.

Many wishes for a Happy Birthday my friend, even if I am a day late!

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed your tea and crumpets and your next stop is not Twiddledee and Twiddledum but Kari at http://purplefuntastickcreations.blogspot.com/

Awesome New Blog Button

Photobucket

Awesome new blog button thanks to Lynne Kirsch.  She is an amazing artist and wonderful friend.  Please take some time to visit her page here and check out all of her crafty kre8tions.  I am sure you will enjoy the visit.

Don't you just love the colors and those beautiful tuplips.  Everytime I look at this button, I feel like Dorothy in the field of poppies on the Wizard of Oz.  (Minus the sleepy potion of course).

I love it Lynne, thank you so much my friend!!!!

True Friend

This is a fast simple card I made..  I scraplifted it right off the cover of Card Maker Magazine.   What a wonderful resource!  All the papers I used were f rom my Stampin' Up Collection.

I really needed a better picture, but already sent the card off in the mail before I took one!  Please ignore my well use craft mat.

Kari's Purlie's Design Team

Photobucket

Welcome to my first posting for Kari’s Purplie’s Design Team. I am very excited to be a part of this design team with some wonderful ladies who have some amazing crafting skills.

For my first project, I chose to do a framed flower piece. This project is made from all materials that I have in my craft room. The frame is made lumber from my dear hubby’s stash and he very kindly made the frame for me. Then added the light varnish so it would shine.

I used a simple foam backboard to create the purple flowing background. The idea behind the foam board was to create a free flowing river like background. We used watercolor paints and painted the board, and then we took a sponge to create the swirly motions to create the water look. I am not sure we totally created the look we were going for, but I still like it.

Drama Free Zone is something we would all like to have. What started out as a joke ended up being a wonderful framed project for me. After the background was painted and dry, I cut and added the letters. I cannot tell you what the paper is that I used for the letters (I got the paper from my sister in law). I can tell you it is a nice thick paper, with a wonderful purple design throughout, which is just what I needed for this project. I created the letters in my Sure Cuts A Lot application and had to cut the small letters twice because the first go around, I made them too thin and there was not enough to glue to my board. *sigh*

Once I got the letters cut and glued on, it was time for the hardest task of the whole project. The flowers. I will openly admit, I am not, by any means an expert flower maker, I am just in the learning stages. So I turned to my sister in law for help. She willing helped and provided me with some great tips. I made six flowers, three for the top and three for the bottom. I took those six flowers and surrounded them with some silk flowers, silk leaves, and some other paper flowers that I had in my embellishment stash. The end result turned out quite nice!

Thank you for taking a look at my project. Please make sure you look at my sister design team projects as well. You can do so by returning to Purple Funtastic Creations http://purplefuntastickcreations.blogspot.com/

Scrappie EMT Design Team Challenge ~ A Baby Boom

This week's challenge was to create a Baby Boom creation.  For this project I pulled out some of my pre-cut die cuts to create a layout for a little girl.  It seems like when I do these types of projects, I spend more time moving the elements around on the page getting them in just the right place.

With a couple of new little ladies being added to family, this was an easy project for me to complete. And I easily had all of the elements in my scraproom.

Here are the pictures of my page!

Anniversary Blog Hop ~ Would You Like To Participate

Photobucket

Hello all my Blogging Family.

I am going to be hosting a blog hop to usher in my second year of blogging and joining the Paper Crafting World. On January 23rd, I will have been blogging a year about my experiences. So, what a better way to celebrate than to have a blog party.

I am looking for participants who would like to share in my One Year Blogging Anniversary. Here is some information to help you decide if you would like to join me.

Blog Hop will be help on January 31, 2012

Theme ~ Spring

Colors are pastels to signify life, growth, spring (florals/paisley)

You have an open slate to create whatever you want; you do not have to stick with just a card or a scrapbook layout. You can do mixed media, Circuit cuts, SVG cuts, whatever trips your trigger.

I am also looking for some sponsors for the blog hop who would like to offer up a small something to use as blog candy. The rules will be simple, follow all the blogs in the hop, comment on all the blogs on the hop, and a winner will be drawn by using Random Org the day after hop concludes.

If you would like to participate, just message me and I will add your name to the list.

Thanks,

Kimberly
