Sharing Jesus Love

Hello Friends!

Welcome to my blog! and today we are sharing Jesus' Love for us to remind you all who loved us first in the world and gave his life for us to show how much.  Thanks for coming and have fun enjoying our stories and creations as we do our own interpretation of his love for us. John 3:16 states that God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son... Praise our Lord for loving us that he shed his blood for us to live a holy and blessed life...

If you came to visit me today, thanks for visiting but I would love for you to start at the beginning of our hop which is Kari at http://purplefuntastickcreations.blogspot.com/. If you have arrived from Carol - http://www.huffandpuffscrap.blogspot.com/, then you are on the right path for Praising our Lord.

There is a prize for commenting on each blog with the prize to be announced; so don't forget to give bloggy love and be inspired and have fun along the way.

For today’s card, I am using a brand new stamp I received from my Secret Sister.  This stamp set is from the Sweet n’ Sassy stamp line, called Helping Hand.  This stamp arrived at just the right time as I was trying to plan for this event.

I will be the first to say that I am still in the learning process with my colored pencils and blending pens.  However, I really enjoy sitting down to color and find it quite relaxing.    Don’t you just love the little mouse helping the little blue bird of happiness get a drink from the water hydrant?   I know I do!

Thanks for stopping in and taking a look at my card.  Please feel free to come back and visit anytime, however, while you are here, please leave me a comment, this helps inspire me and helps me improve my work.

Here is the line-up in case you get lost:

Thanks again for stopping by

Don't forget to comment and would love for you to be a follower and you can also get my e-mail to keep up with what is going on my blog. Thanks and have a blessed day! :)

Share the Love ~ Valentine's Day Mailbox

  • Welcome to Paper Piecings By Nikki's first bi-monthly blog hop.  This month, the design team has been asked to create something with love. If you have seen any of Nikki's new releases, you'll see that we had no problem picking and choosing which piecings to use.  So get cozy and be prepared to be inspired...

If you've arrived from Liz - http://tryin2craft.blogspot.com, then you are in the right place.  If you want to start at the beginning, hop on over to www.paperpiecingsbynikki.blogspot.com and start there.

    Here is my Valentine's Mailbox

I can remember sitting as a child and creating Valentine’s Day mailboxes and getting so excited as I thought about the cards that would soon fill my mailbox.  With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to let the kid in me come out and play.
I used a file from SVG Cuts to make the mailbox.  It was pretty fast and easy, but honestly, I did have a little bit of problems getting the ends to fit correctly. At times, I felt like I was standing on my head just to get it to fold and insert correctly to form the arch. Held my breath, and finally, it worked and I got it all glued down.
With the mailbox done, I had to embellish it with something really cute.  The choice was hard, because I had to use a patter from Paper Piecings by Nikki, and her patters are all so adorable.  I chose the Cuddyly Cupids, I thought they were the perfect fit for this mailbox.
I hope you enjoyed my mailbox, I wonder if I will have any cards in it on Valentine’s Day?

One of the reasons we are "Sharing the Love" with this blog hop is to let you all know that every purchase you make at Paper Piecings By Nikki, $1 is donated to charity.  Giving back to this world we live in.  We also want to share some love with you.

Go to www.paperpiecingsbynikki.com and pick up your 'Share the Love" Freebie that is on the bottom of her donation page.  We would love to have you create something special with it and then link it up to either Paper Piecings By Nikki facebook page or her blog www.paperpiecingsbynikki.blogspot.com.  Either way, you will be eligible to win a great prize.

To be eligible to win, you must do the following:
    1. 'Like' Paper Piecings By Nikki on facebook.
    2. "Follow" her on http://paperpiecingsbynikki.blogspot.com
    3. Leave a comment on Nikki's blog or facebook telling of you favorite charity and why it is close to your heart
    4. Link your project, using the freebie - or another PPBN piecing on either her blog or facebook page - or both for a second chance to win.

The challenge will remain open for one week.  Nikki will choose the winner next Friday.  Make sure you leave an address so we can contact you.

Valentine's Décor and Gifts Blog Hop

Hi and welcome to the Valentine's Décor and Gifts Blog Hop.

If you happened here by chance you're in luck! There will be 20 stops full of great ideas, so grab a beverage and head over to the hostess' blog. Staci's blog is at http://preciousmem.blogspot.com/. The sponsor for this hop is Designs on Cloud 9 at http://designsoncloud9.com/ and she has offered us a $20 gift voucher for the GRAND prize. Head over to her Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/pages/Designs-on-Cloud-9/189551027737837 and show her some love. One lucky person who comments on this hop will be the winner of this generous prize. (One person from each stop will be chosen at random and we will then hold a random draw with those 20 people and one lucky person will win the grand prize).

If you follow my blog, you know that I am a simplistic person  (but growing daily).    I like to hand things on my front door, but it is hit with the full warm afternoon sun.  Add to that, I have a storm door that adds to the heat between two doors.   Because of this, whatever hangs on my door tends to fade quickly and I can only use it for one season.  As such, I tend to keep with the very simplistic designs so I don’t feel like I am wasting my valuable crafting supplies.  This design is no different, I made a simple word door hanging and have it hanging on my front door.  I can safely say, by the time Valentine’s Day is past (next week) the letters that are vibrant red today will be very dull and ready to be taken down and replaced with St. Patrick’s Day or Easter.

How simple was this project?

I created some paper in my PrintMaster Program, then cut them out on my Cricut.  I had to use my SCAL application because I only have a couple of Font Cartridges for my Cricut and none of them had the feel I was looking for this banner.   I wanted to add a little bit of romance so I added some pearls to the tops of the letters.

While yes, it is simplistic, it does look nice on my front door and will be a nice greeting for a visitor.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today, please make sure you keep moving along the trail.  Your next stop along the way is Liz Mullen: http://scrapiliciouslife.blogspot.com

I have also included the list of participants, however, please make sure you start of Staci’s and comment on each one to qualify for the Grand Prize offered by Designs on Cloud Nine.

Purple Funtastick Creations ~ Guest Designer

Today I am honored to be a guest Designer for Kari Sanchez.  I am also one of Kari’s Purplies, so I am having double the fun with my crafting.

Today I would like to share with you a Candy Box I made and decorated. The candy box is a file I got from SVGcuts and is called “One Piece Boxes”.

This is the second box I made. The first one I made from designer paper, and I felt it was too thin and weak to be supportive of the candy I plan to add.  This box is made from a white sheet of ColorBook Paper that I printed through my Print Master application.  Sometimes, I just like to make my own paper.

I embellished my candy box with three tiny silk pink roses, some greenery, and a pink bow. Someday, I hope I learn to make much better bows.

My candy box has four pieces of homemade chocolate candy my husband and I made.  I make candy at Christmas time, however, this is the first time I have made Valentine’s Day candy.  I just buy the Wilton’s heat and melt chips at JoAnn’s.  We melt them in the double boiler in the Wilton squeeze bottles.  This makes it very easy to get the small amounts of liquid into the heart areas. We then top it off with either dark chocolate or milk chocolate, shake the molds to get rid of air bubbles then refrigerate for about 30 minutes.  These are very fast and easy to make.

Thank you Kari for allowing me to share my Valentine’s project with you and your readers.  Thank you for stopping in today, I look forward to reading your comments.

Guest Designer for Her Craftiness

Her Craftiness

Today I am honored to be a guest designer for Her Craftiness. And with Valentine’s Day just around the corner, and I wanted to make a sexy, shiny red high heeled candy holder.  I found a very helpful tutorial on line and set out to create.  I am a pearls and blue jeans kind of gal, so I added pearls to my candy shoe up the back seam, and around the toe.

I am really beginning to step out of my comfort zone with my crafting, and while this design was not hard by any means, it is a far cry from the simplistic cards and layouts that I normally create.

There are a few things I will do differently when I make my next shoe, but really, isn’t that what crafting is all about? Learning from your mistakes and turning them around into improved projects? I am still learning how to use the glue gun so I do not make such a mess with my glue.  You can see a few traces of my mistakes on the shine of the shoe.

I hope you like my shoe, I know I do, (even in its simplistic nature).  Thanks for stopping by today, and feel free to leave me comments.
