Walt Disney's Animated Movies Blog Hop!!!

Hop Write Up:

Welcome to Walt Disney's Animated Movies Blog Hop!!! What makes this hop phenomenal as in no other hop is that every Friday, we will be paying tribute to different movies SOOOO, you will need to mark you calendars for every Friday for these special blog hops:

March 23: Cinderella
March 30: Alice in Wonderland

Today, we are celebrating all those cute characters that come alive on the screen. If you just happened to visit me today, I wouldn't want you to miss one chime of the clock and would want you to start with Lisa at http://handmadewithlove-lisa.blogspot.com/. You are at the right spot!!!!

My project today is a Layout.

I am working on a layout of Cinderella and Prince Charming. As such, what you see here is just start of the multi-page layout I am planning. I had also planned to add Gus, one of the mice, to the top portion of the layout, but Gus was not playing along this evening and all he wanted to do was dance all over the cricut mat. Once I finally get him to cut, he still did not want to cooperate as the pieces did not match up correctly. Guess Gus was still dancing on that mat after all. So what it amounts to, is I got frustrated and put Gus away until tomorrow. Stay tuned for more great Cinderella layouts.

There is a great line-up today for the hop and I wouldn't want you to miss a single spot:

You are probably wondering if there is going to be a prize for this hop. There is. It will be a Disney animated movie but I will reveal as to which movie it is going to be at a later time. To be eligible for this prize, you have to follow my blog and everyone else's blog that is in this hop. You also must leave me and the other wonderful ladies a comment in order to qualify for the prize. The grand prize will be awarded at the end of this month. You get one entry for each of the 4 blog hops during the series of Walt Disney Animated Movies Blog Hops during each of the Friday's in the month of March. So if you just choose one of the Fridays to attend, you would only get one entry but if you choose to attend all four hops during the month of March, you get a bonus entry since you came to all four hops, then you will receive 4 + 1 entries, which makes your chance of winning the movie go up with each entry.

Thanks for stopping by today and visiting and checking out my project, I now must send you on your way but watch out for the wicked stepmother and step sisters as I send you on to Lynne - http://slasewcraftiness.blogspot.com/.
Please stop back again real soon for another great project.

Tsunami Rose Design Sketch #14

Diasy, AKA Tsunami Rose Designs has created her 50th sketch.  How exciting for her.  If you have not yet seen her sketches, head on over to her blog now and take a look.  I know you will love them just as much as the rest of her do.

To celebrate her 50th sketch, Daisy is hosting a celebrations contest.  She simply ask that you create a card from her sketch then link it up on her blog.

This is the sketch she provided.

As you can see, I followed it pretty closely.  However, because of the wordiness of the stamp I used, I chose not to add an additional sentiment to the card.  For the card, I used De'ja' Blue paper from The Paper Studio.

I have also added three little pearls in the top and bottom corners of the blue paper.   I also added pearls to the end of the lace and ribbon.

I used a lace eyelet and strung a blue ribbon through the eyelet before I glued it to my paper.

I stamped the image using VersaMark, then embossed it using a Stampin' Up black embossing powder.  I used my Prisma Watercolor Pencils to color in the flowers, then blended the pencil using my Stampin' Up blending pens.

Make sure you stop in and visit Tsunami Rose Designs and try your hand at one of her sketches.

Thanks stopping by today!!

Fraggle Rock

Are you ready to dance your cares away --- then lets go to Fraggle Rock with Gobo, Mokey, Wembley, Boober and Red. This was a children's live action puppet television program series created by Jim Henson. The central characters were a set of "Muppet" creatures called Fraggles.

The music starts in the opening scene with you seeing Doc, an inventor, and his loving dog, Sprocket. Sprocket chases Uncle Matt, a Fraggle, as he explores "Outer Space" and sends picture post cards to the Fraggles. Uncle Matt explores Outer Space through a crack in the wall.

Fraggles are humanoid creatures, about 18 inches tall with fur in a wide variety of colors and a tail like a lion’s, with a tuft of fur on the end. They live in a network of caves called Fraggle Rock, populated by a variety of creatures, and seeming to connect to at least two different worlds in separate dimensions of time and space. Fraggles spend much of their carefree lives in play, exploring their worlds, and generally enjoying themselves. However, at the same time they maintain a complex culture and society, with each individual having rights and responsibilities. They have basic skill with tools and with crude machinery, and the concept of war is known to them (although wars between Fraggles are very rare). Fraggles live on a diet of vegetables, especially radishes. If individuals touch their heads together before falling asleep they can “share dreams.”

Within Fraggle Rock lives a second species of small humanoid creatures, the pudgy, green, ant-like Doozers. Standing only 6 inches tall (knee-high to a Fraggle), Doozers in a sense represent anti-Fraggles; their lives are dedicated to work and industry. Doozers spend much of their time busily constructing all manner of scaffolding throughout Fraggle Rock using miniature construction equipment and wearing hard-hats and work boots. No one but the Doozers themselves seem to understand the actual purpose of their intricate and beautiful constructions.

Often they accompany their building with marching songs and various Doozer chants. To ensure that they always have a steady stream of work to do, Doozers build their constructions out of an edible candy-like substance (manufactured from radishes) which is greatly enjoyed by Fraggles. They actually want the Fraggles to eat their constructions because "architecture's supposed to be enjoyed" and also so they can go on to build again. This is essentially the only interaction between Doozers and Fraggles; Doozers spend most of their time building, and Fraggles spend much of their time eating Doozer buildings.

On the outside of another exit from Fraggle Rock, through a well, live a family of Gorgs, giant furry humanoids standing 22 feet tall. The husband and wife of the family call themselves the King and Queen  of the Universe, with their son Junior as its Prince and their heir, but to all appearances working as simple farmers with a hut and garden patch. The Gorgs regard Fraggles as pests, which steal radishes from their garden. In one episode it is revealed that the Gorgs use radishes to make "anti-vanishing cream" that prevents them from becoming invisible. So the three main races of the Fraggle Rock universe — Fraggles, Doozers and Gorgs — are all dependent on the radishes for different reasons. While the King and Queen consider the Fraggles disgusting vermin, Junior enjoys chasing, catching and keeping them like a boy would lizards and bugs. Junior has no friends, and perhaps pursues the Fraggles just so he has someone to talk to.

Marjory, The Trash Heap is a wise being (referred to as an "oracle"), serves as the garbage dump of the Gorgs. She and her heckling heralds live near the Gorg's garden, and she gives the Fraggles guidance and advice, which the Fraggles regard with reverence, although they do not worship her. She also appears to have some magical abilities (specifically telepathy and the ability toteleport items or Fraggles), although she does not often use them. Sometimes she knits to pass the time. She has an uncle named Maximillian, whom she refers to as "Uncle Max". Jerry Nelson voiced Marjory the Trash Heap.

Let's dance our cares away and go down to Fraggle Rock now that you know the characters and have fun with this wonderful line up --- if you were just visiting one of the many worlds of Fraggle Rock today, aka me, I don't want you to miss any of this silliness and start at the beginning of our our with Lynne at http://slasewcraftiness.blogspot.com/. You should have arrived with or without radishes from Colleen, http://www.cbcscrapbooking.blogspot.com, then you are at the right place.

Here is my card for you today. This card is cut from an SVG file. I chose to use just the heads of the Banjo Player, the Girl Singer, and the Drummer. If you notice, their little heads are all touching, therefore, Their Dreams will come True!!! I added a few music notes (wish I would have added them in a different color though.

Inside of card Dreams do Come True!

I like the fast and simple projects sometimes. This project fills that bill.

We've danced, tasted the doozers buildings but now it is time to check out another world with being sure to chart your journey and leave your discoveries along the way with your comments. Here is the full line up!

Scrappy EMT ~ Pamper Yourself

Happy Tuesday to all of you!

On this fine Tuesday morning, I would like to share with you a very simple Pamper Yourself tip I use.  Tanks to my sister in law, Lisa, I have a new passion for wonderful homemade soaps, bath salts, and body lotions. I do not make my own soaps, I leave that up to the expert, Lisa.  However, I do make my own bath salts.

This is simple recipe for the bath salts and they are ingredients you can get at your local supermarket.

Combine all ingredients in an air tight jar and shake everyday for one week.

1 cup Epson salt
1 cup rock salt
Food coloring
20 drops of fragrance

Use 1/4 cup per bath for a relaxing aromatic experience.

When I give these bath salts as a gift, I put them in a canning jar, add a piece of cloth that I have pinked around the edges, and a flower of some sort of embellishment on top.  This time I chose to add a Cricut flower.

If you want to pamper yourself without sitting in a hot tub of water, you could do what I do.  Contact Lisa at Simply Silverton who makes the best homemade soaps. While she has  10-15 scents of homemade soap at a very reasonable cost, I personally use the Orange Patchouli.  Once I started using her homemade soaps, I have never purchased a store bought bar again.

Kari’s Purplie’s Design Team

Photobucket

Good Monday Morning, and welcome to my Design Team Project for March for Kari's Purplies.

This month we were challenged to do something for St. Patrick's Day that was not a card or a Layout.  Kari had suggested something for home decor.  I am not much for home decor projects for the holidays, unless it is Christmas, so this one was a challenge for me. I tried to do a picture frame using Shrinky Dinks, but I was not having a lot of luck cutting them without them ripping. I did not want to waste a bunch of sheet of the product because of the cost, so I rethought my plan of action.  So Plan B it is.

For the past few months, I have been wanting to create a luminary. But I did not want it to be just any luminary.  I have enough stuff in my house that collects the spring dust blowing around outside.  With the help of a friend, I came up with a plan.  A luminary that I can alter for each season/holiday/ or what ever reason I desire.

 Here is the result.
Front of Luminary
Lucky on the inside looking out.  He is protecting his pot of gold.
All of the embellishments you see on this luminary are all held in place with tiny velcro dots.  As Easter draws near, I will be taking the shamrocks off and replacing them with bunnies, eggs and chicks. When Easter passes, I will go for the next holiday or a season.  I am all about crafting and reusing my resources.  If I am going to make something, I would like to make it and be able to use if for more than once a year for a few days.

I realized as I was adding these pictures, that I have forgotten to add my vellum to my windows. I will have to go back and do that.

Please make sure you stop in and visit my design team sisters.  They always have awesome projects to share with you. Leave a comment if you were inspired by my work today.
