My Take On A Diamond Fold Card

A friend shared this blog posting with me and challenged me to make the card, then show her how I did it. I am always up for a good challenge and to try something new.

Here is the blog posting she shared with me. this is a diamond fold card and while I love the paper used to do this card, I know I didn't have anything like that in my stash so I had to come up with a new game plan.

First I had to learn how to make the folds, (and fold it the right way) without ripping the paper.  That many folds, I knew I was bound to rip at least one area (and I did) before I got the fold figured out.

I used a Tim Holtz Vintage Shabby paper to complete my card.  Anyone who really knows me knows I am a pink girl, and this paper fit the bill perfectly. And, you also know that I like to do my own thing when I see a sample card I want to replicate.  And I did just that with this card.

Here is my take on the Diamond Fold card.  This is a front view.

Here is where I went rouge and did my own thing.  After I got the card all completed, I did not like how the card was laying.  So, with the help of a friend, I carefully glued the diamond folds together onto a card base.  While I still have the diamond fold, it created a whole new look for the card.

I now have an interesting pop-up design without having to use the pop-dots, or a bobble of some type.  The card is very sturdy and should mail nicely.

What do you think?
