Outlawz Color Challenge

Okay, I know, I am pressing my luck doing two postings in the same day when my blog has not worked for months. Let's seize the moment and take advantage.

I was lucky enough to get to chose the color challenge for this week, so I went with something that reminded me of spring.

First, let's talk about our sponsor. Sheepski Designs.  I absolutely love their designs!!!!  Our winner will get 3 digis of their choice from the store!

We are using this wonderful spring picture as our inspiration this week.  I  chose a pale blue color and added a twist. The designer chooses 2 other colors from the picture and tells us what your twist is.

Here is what I did for this weeks challenge. An exploding popup card.

The front of the card is a blue with white scripting.  This is one of my favorite papers.  I don't know what I will do when I run out of it.  The card is held closed with a belly band, which should have been enough, right? But no, I was not satisfied, so I had to add flowers.  While you cannot tell, my belly band sentiment is done with a pink and gold foil.  I just was unable to get that sparkle when I took my photo.  the flowers pull from the colors of the flowers on the picture.

I then tried to pull colors from the flowers in the graphic to add to the inside of my card as well.

Tuesday Outlawz Color Challenge

This month our sponsor is

Our winner will get the 3 digis that our team have to play with.

Don't forget our other Fabulous Sponsors for August

This week's challenge was chosen by me.  Look at those fabulous colors. For this challenge we are using 3 of  colors.

Can't wait to see what you all come up with!

This week I used the cute little mermaid.  Inspired by both the colors and the water.  What beautiful mermaid would not love to swim around in those waters with those beautiful flowers.

I used my Prima Colored Pencils to color this image.  I tried something new with this little mermaid, and while I like it, I know there is much work to do to make it better.

I printed the papers from patterns on my Cameo, and completed the design with some pearls to match the paper.

I hope you like it!

Tuesday Color Challenge with the Outlawz

This month our sponsor is

Our winner will get the 3 digis that our team have to play with.

This week's challenge was chosen by Jacqui. Jacqui chose Monohrome this week, in blue but you can choose whichever colour you like!

This week I chose to use the wonderful C8-Oz Collection Espantalho for my card this week.  I am not sure I totally met the monochrome color, but I did use blues. More importantly, I love how it turned out.

I used my Prisma Colored Pencils to add color to this awesome digi.  Using blues and Monochrome requirements, I also added some golds and browns.

The papers I used are all just papers from my stash, including the burlap strip.  Love the fun sun flower buttons.  These came from a friend and I found them to be a perfect fit.

I hope you like my little Scarecrow, I know I do!!

Outlawz Color Challenge ~ May 9

It is that time again for the next Tuesday color Challenge.  This weeks I was honored to use on my of own photographs for the challenge.  But more about that in a minute.  First, let's take a look at the wonderful sponsor for the month of May.

We have some lovely digis from Mari Digital Designs to share with you this month! Our sponsor has given us three lovely digis to play with and we will give those digis to our lucky winner!  Please make sure you check out Mari Digis Store to see her wonderful work.

 Mari Digis

Now on to our challenge this week.  We used one of my own photographs.  This photograph is from one of my early morning walks and the beautiful sunrise.  I took the photo on my cell phone and can't believe how nicely the colors came though.  I thought it was a good choice for a color  challenge where we could chose 3 out of 5 colors.

I tried to use all of the colors from the color pallet, whether it be in her dress or in the card itself.  What a fabulous digi this is.  I found so many ways to use her.

I went with a clean and simple card for this one, I thought she would stand out nicely on a white embossed card.   When I created my card, I did a flip because I did not want her looking off of the card, I wanted her to look toward the embossed flowers.

I hope you like it.  I know I sure do.

Thanks for stopping by today

The Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge

Hello Everyone, it is Tuesday, so you know what that means.  It is Tuesday Color Challenge day at The Outlaws

The month of March we have the fabulous sponsor DigiStamps4Joy, who is offering a $10 prize to spend in their store.

This weeks challenge Mary provided us this color scheme and asked us to use 3 of 5 colors, with a twist of adding a butterfly.   What great colors Mary, butterflies are a good sign that warmer weather is here.  At least it made us feel that way right?

I made a twisted easel card for this weeks challenge. This is the first time I have made a card such as this, and it was so much fun.  I was really surprised at just how fast and easy it was.

I was able to use all five  (or a shade)of the colors in the picture.   I found a tutorial on Google for the card. Like I said, it was really so easy to complete.

I started with the center floral piece.  I decided that, it was best left black and white.  I however, printed it on a sheet of music paper where I made it transparent.  it is the same paper as on the bottom part of my card, and the angled part of my card (just for comparison).  it is amazing what a single sheet of paper can do when you adjust the transparency, and pan the paper from one side to the other.

Once I put the card all together, It was time to add the embellishments.  This was easy for me. I simply needed to add a few roses and baby's breath.  I also decided the black pearls over some lace would be a nice touch.  To finish off the corner embellishments, I added an additional butterfly from my store.  T

Here is a picture of the entire card.   I really like how this card turned out.   I hope you are too.

I hope you will join us at The Outlawz color challenge.  I know you will have fun!

Thanks for stopping by my blog.  I look forward to reading your comments. They inspire me to continue to grow in my crafts.
