Good Morning and Happy Wednesday. For this week’s Scrappie EMT Design Team Challenge, we were asked to create something for a celebration. My thought went immediately to my Cricut Cake Machine that I got at a great price, and has been sitting idle on my kitchen cabinet.
I decided to make some cup cakes and decorate them with a cut from my cake machine. So I set my mind to it and started by cutting out the cup cake wrappers first.
Little did I know this was going to be one of the largest challenges of my day. I was using white core paper and the paper continued to rip as the Cricut made the cuts. I tried several different settings, and still had a problem. I dug through the card stock my sister in law sent me and found a sheet that was no white core and was not textured. I held my breath and cut one… success, I programmed the machine to cut three more and hoped it worked as well as the first. Again, success!!!!
The rest was really a piece of cake (pun intended)!!!
This was the first time I have used my Cricut Cake machine, and yes, I know that the design is so simplistic. However, for those of you who follow my blog, you know that I am a very simplistic person. This is not the most creative use of fondant, but as I learn, I will display some more creative work.
My husband and I make our own fondant, for this challenge, I used a marshmallow recipe. I used what I had in the house because it is cold outside and I did not want to go out to go to the store.
Here are the pictures of how the cupcakes turned out.
Those turned out great... I now want to play with the girls with their cricut cake... Thank you for sharing and inspiring me to get moving with their cricut cake ... happy crafting...
