Kari’s Purplie’s Design Team

Photobucket

Good Morning,

Welcome to my Kari’s Purplies Design Team posting.  This week Kari challenged us to make our favorite flower and provide our readers the recipe of how we completed the process.

It is no secret, I love flowers and I have been in the flower learning process for several months now, as such, I was very excited with this new challenge to see what I could create.

This is my all time favorite flower from the Cricut Cartridge Flower Shoppe.  It is so simple to make as well.

I simply cut out 6 pieces for this flower starting with 2.5” and working my way down in ½ “increments.

2 layers at 2.5”
2 layers at 2”
1 layer at 1.5”
1 layer at 1”

Before I glued each layer together, I took a pink ink and inked all of the edges.  I love the heart shape of the petals and bend them at each heart.  This also makes it very easy to ink the edges.  I then used the smallest end of a paint brush and rolled the edges of my petals under just a wee little bit.

In the past when I have made this flower, I have used a small glue dot to add some glitter, or glass beads to the center.  Today, I decided I wanted to try something different, so rather than add the normal, I added a brad to connect the first two layers.  With some gold or silver brads a person could use fingernail polish to change the color of the brad.

After completing the inking and rolling, I simply add white glue between each layer to glue them together.   As I glue them I just alternate the petals by turn each layer just a tad.

I hope you like my flower, and I look forward to your  comments.  Remember to visit my Design Team sisters’ blogs and check out what each of them have made as well.   Then come back on Thursday to see what we have done with our wonderful flowers.
