Altered Journal ~ Christmas Gift

Today I am back with you again with a simple yet effective Christmas Journal.  I am in just the beginning stages of my journal.  You have heard the saying, if it can go wrong, it will.  Well that has been the whole case with this journal.  I love what I have started, but in all honesty, I am not very good at making journals.  I am a card person.

I still have multiple embellishments to add to my journal, but I am out of ink in my printer, so the few pages you will see on my blog, will be added to when I get more ink.

Here is what I got started.  I hope you like it.

I Love Sketches by Tsunami Rose ~ November 2

Yes, I am a wee bit behind on my sketches.  I will be catching up in the next few days.  :-)

One of the wonderful aspects of being a part of the Tsunami Rose Designs team are the sneak peeks we get from all of Daisy’s marvelous designs. Beginning on November 1st, Tsunami Rose Designs will begin selling the first ever, Life Abloom Printable Journal. This is one stunning design you will not want to miss. When you purchase a printable from the Tsunami Rose Designs Shop, you are purchasing a high quality digital image, that is printable on any type of printer. What is really superb, once you purchase the design, you can use it as many times as you desire. I promise, the Life Abloom is one design you will not want to miss. You will find the new printable journal here . To add to the fun, the first 20 people to purchase the journal will get an additional free $5.00 to spend in the Tsunami Rose Designs Shop.

There are several pages we would love for you to follow, two on Facebook, the wonderful Facebook TRD Group! and the New TRD Facebook Page, the third page is the Tsunami Rose Designs by Daisy Collins blog page. Following the blog will provide you with daily inspiration on how to use the wonderful printables from the shop.

Here is how I created my card

For this card, I used one of the journal papers from the
Life Abloom printable journal.

I created this card by starting with a 6 x 6 ivory card base, covered it with a trimmed down sheet of the Life Abloom journal paper.  The flags were created from a light pink card stock, which I slightly folded and trimmed off at an angle for the pointed ends.  I added a fabric ivory rose and two small pink fabric roses.  I finished off the card by adding the sentiment on an ivory cut layered over green.  The cuts are from Lacy Labels.

My inspiration for you today: is the first sketch of the month, Sketch #12.

This sketch just screams elegance to me.  I was very excited to work on this sketch.

If you are a follower of my blog, you will see how much I love  Daisy's sketches, but also her printable papers.  I love that once you buy them, you have them forever and you can continue you to use them for years.

Thank you so much for stopping in today and visiting my blog.  I would love the hear your comments.

What I used:  for this card, I used one of Daisy's great printables.  However, as you can tell, my paper turned out more pink then the colors as Daisy created it.  This is because my printer was running low on ink.  I started to not use it, however, I still liked the colors and I thought it would be just a little bit different.  Besides, I hate to waste papers. And I love how easy it was to put the flowers together to make it look like a picture window.

I accented the printable with a dark blue card stock, a bright pink ribbon, and rather than using the half back pink pearls, i used to flower shaped buttons instead.

What I like about this month's exclusive printable:  When someone asks me what I like about any of Daisy's printables the answer is always the same, they are unique, versatile  and easy to use.  Additionally, once you purchase the paper, you always have them and you can print as many as you so desire.   I really like how Daisy layered the beautiful flowers over the top of an atlas page.  The size of the blooms make this paper easy to cut into strips and piece back together for this card.  It is also great as a whole back ground for a card or scrapbook page.

I Love Sketches By Tsunami Rose - July 6

Check out Daisy's video on other Design Team Members creations and the papers we each used.

Here is the card that I created from today sketch.

Today's card was made using The Paper Studio paper for the background, called Large Sketchy Flowers.   I added a purple Eyelet frame cut from Elegant Edges, and topped it with a lace paper heart from Wilton.  I completed the card by adding a brass swirl and purple flowers.  The sentiment is from Stampin' Up Bring on the Cake.

Today I did not use any of Daisy's fantastic papers, however, you can find all of her papers in her shop here.  I also encourage you to join the I Love Sketches by Tsunami  Rose Facebook group by clicking on this link.

I Love Sketches By Tsunami Rose - July 5

I Love Sketches By Tsunami Rose - July 5

Let me start of my posting by wishing Daisy a VERY Happy Birthday.  I hope your day was extra special Daisy.

Check out Daisy's video on other Design Team Members creations and the papers we each used.

Here is the card that I created from today sketch.

I love all of Daisy's papers, and this one is no different.  The beautiful muted colors of the images and the musical notes running through the back ground just scream "use me".  I paired her beautiful paper with a deep yellow back ground and added green accents to bring out the green in the back ground.  I complimented the birthday card by  adding golden pearls and a silk flower.

For this card, I used one of Daisy's printable, you can find all of her papers in her shop here.  I also encourage you to join the I Love Sketches by Tsunami  Rose Facebook group by clicking on this link.

I Love Sketches by Tsunami Rose ~ April 11

Welcome to Day 11 of I Love Sketches by Tsunami Rose.

Today is day eleven of 30 for I Love Sketches by Tsunami Rose.   Make sure you visit her blog here, and check out her awesome sketches.

Today's sketch is number 7.  First, take a look at the sketch . . .

And here is what I did with the sketch.

I am learning to like vintage more and more everyday.  The paper for this card came from the Recollections Love Letters stack.  This has turned out to be one of my favorite stacks.

Ribbons came from my sister in law, thou, I think she got them at JoAnn's.

Please make sure you visit my Design Team Sisters blog and see their take on the sketch.

I Love Sketches by Tsunami Rose ~ April 9

Welcome to Day 9 of I Love Sketches by Tsunami Rose.

Today is day Nine of 30 for I Love Sketches by Tsunami Rose.   Make sure you visit her blog here, and check out her awesome sketches.

Today's sketch is number 10.  First, take a look at the sketch . . .

And here is what I did with the sketch.  I call this the blue lady card.

This card was way out of my comfort zone.  I still think she needs something, but I cannot lay my finger on it.  I have tried a brown frame around her, I have tried blue strips above and below her and I still did not like how it looked.  So, I decided to just leave her be fore now, let her sit in the file box, and pick her up in a day or two and give her a second shot at completion.

Please make sure you visit my Design Team Sisters blog and see their take on the sketch.

Scrappy EMT St. Patty's Day Posting

Good afternoon everyone, and welcome to my posting for St. Patty's Day.

Today I have for you a wonderful card I made from a sketch provided by Tsunami Rose. I am sending this card to my mom for St. Patrick's Day and I wanted something other than the traditional leprechauns and Shamrocks.  All of the papers used in this card are from Stampin' Up.  I wish I could tell you want the name is of the green floral, but I can't as it has been in my stash for a year now and I did not keep the package.

I love the green tones of the card, and the added pearls for embellishment.  I took the edge off the sentiment banner with three lace ribbon roses.

What do you think?
