First I must apologize for getting my blog up a little later than I Had planned.  I had a few things come up today.   The paper I used for this card came from Daisy's Halloween collection.   Yes, it is supposed to be Orange.  However, when I went to find the sheet I had already printed, I could not.  I must have put it away quite nicely for safe keeping.   So, I wanted to print another, and this is what I ended up with.  A purple paper rather than the orange.  I really kind of like it too.  The ribbon and the doily are both Stampin' Up card stock and the Trick or Treat is a metal sticker.

I love Daisy's papers, and how easy they are to work with when designing.

Tuesday Inspiration ~ Paper Piecings by Nikki

Good Morning, I am here to share some Tuesday Inspiration with you.

Today I have a cute two page layout I made using the ABC file at Paper Piecings by Nikki.   Just click the links to be taken to her page or the direct file.

I do more cards than I do Layouts, but this file was to cute not to try and do a layout of some sort.  I tell you this because I think the layout still needs some work and something added to it to help make it pop.  However, everything I tried to add to it made it seem cluttered and distracting from the cute bears.

I tried something different with the edges of my photo mats and the borders of the layouts.  Rather than just a straight cut or a scalloped cut, I decided I wanted to do an angle cut.  While i like the look, it did take me some time to get the two pieces cut just right so they lined up the way I wanted them too.

The back ground paper I used is from Stampin' UP, thou I have had it for a while and could not tell you the name or the stack it came from.  (sorry).

Here are a few pictures of the layouts.

I did add bows to the photo mats and some bling on the bears.  I am setting this layout aside and will keep looking at it to try to fill the gaps.  Thou, I wonder, am I trying to add to much to a layout?  Does every little space really need to be covered?

Calendar Girls Blog Hop

Photobucket

Papercrafts Presents 365 Cards magazine which is our inspiration for these monthly hops which thus became the Calendar Girls. The magazine has Creative Ideas for every day of the year: occasions, holidays, and celebrations including 42 unique holidays!!! These unique holidays are our inspiration. The February unique holidays are:

February is American Heart Month -  Janet
February 2 - Groundhog Day - Edwina
February 4 - Thank a Mailman Day - Nikki Heat
February 5 - Super XLVI - Laura -
February 8 - Kite Flying Day - Lynne:
February 11 - Make a Friend Day - Edwina
February 14 - Valentine's Day - Kari -
February 20 - Presidents' Day - Edwina-
February 22 - National Margarita Day  - Lynne
February 29 - Leap Year - Kimberly

The hop starts with Janet  (http://ladyluvbug.blogspot.com/). You won't want to miss a single occasion!!!

The inside of the card says, “Just to say HI!”  (I don’t know why I don’t have a photo of the inside).

This is my first time of participating in the Calendar Girls Blog hop.  My holiday for February is Leap Year.  Every fourth year we are lucky enough to have an added day included in our calendars.  Although, I must say, I do feel sorry for the poor person(s) who are born on this day.  They only get to celebrate their birthday every four years.  However, now that I think about it, I would be a great young age had I been born on Leap Year day.

What first comes to my mind when I think about Leap Year is a big ole birthday party. A celebration like no other, after all, you have to catch up for three years of missed birthdays. Right?  Well, my idea was way to elaborate for a small card, so I went with something a little less dramatic.  Leaping Frogs…

I simply found a leaping frog online, duplicated him twice,  shrunk down two of them and printed them out on a beige sheet of paper.  I then colored them using my Prisma Watercolor Pencils and blended them with my Stampin’ Up blending pens.  To add the sentiment, I created this in Photoshop as well, and printed it (mirror image) onto my Rob Onz sheet.  I then added it to the card like you would any store bought rub on.

Thanks for stopping by here is the rest of the blog hop in case you happened upon my page without starting at the front.
